Excess weight in early adulthood increases risk of pancreatic cancer. Increased risk for overweight is 167% above lean and obese, 258%, independent of diabetes status. The association was stronger in men than in women and in ever smokers than never smokers. Obesity at an older age was associated with a lower overall survival.

The prevalence of undiagnosed coeliac disease has increased dramatically in the past 50 years.
